Ex-Zookeeper brings family pet to Snowdon Village

Students at Snowdon Village had a very special visitor on Mental Health Awareness Day, Norbot, a friendly bearded dragon brought in by a former Bristol Zoo keeper.

The unusual guest quickly became the centre of attention as students learned all about this fascinating reptile, native to Australia.

The session gave pupils the chance to hold Norbot and discover more about his gentle and curious nature.

The hands-on experience was designed to promote wellbeing, mindfulness, and connection through interaction with animals, offering a calm and engaging moment in the school day.

A Snowdon Village spokesperson said: “It was a fantastic opportunity for our students to learn something new while also focusing on the importance of mental health and wellbeing.

“Interacting with animals like Norbot helps young people build confidence, reduce stress, and develop empathy in a fun and memorable way.”
