Students explore food chains with Owl pellet dissection
Students at Snowdon Village Academy recently engaged in an exciting hands-on science activity, dissecting owl pellets to uncover the dietary habits of owls.
This educational exercise formed a key part of their study of food chains, helping students gain a deeper understanding of predator-prey relationships and ecosystem dynamics.
During the dissection, students carefully analysed the contents of the owl pellets, identifying bones, fur, and other remains of the animals consumed by the owls.
A school spokesperson said: “This activity offered our students a unique opportunity to learn through hands-on exploration.
“It not only enhanced their understanding of food chains but also encouraged critical thinking and scientific inquiry.
“The excitement and engagement we saw during the session were truly amazing.”
